HEAT PUMP HELPFUL HINTS
HEAT PUMP REMOTE CONTROL NOT WORKING?
Try changing the batteries. For most heat pump remote controls you just need to pull the slider all the way off and replace the AAA batteries. (If you do replace the batteries, replace one battery at a time, the remote controller then does not revert back to its original factory setting)
HAS YOUR HEAT PUMP GOT NOISY?
IS YOUR HEAT PUMP NOT RESPONDING?
Hopefully its not your compressor failing! But it could be simply the communication between the indoor and the outdoor units has got a bit scrambled. Power down the unit completely at the isolator, leave it for 10 minutes, turn it back on. That reset should clear any gremlins out of the system if that is the problem.
HEAT PUMP ON 24/7 OR ON/OFF AS REQUIRED?
This is a much debated question, believe it or not there is no right answer. It will very much depend on your specific activity and environment. For example, a well insulated room may suit just being turned on and off as required, it will heat up quickly, however a larger space may suit being left on at a lower temperature. Try out both options yourself and decide what suits your place best.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY HEAT PUMP SERVICED?
We recommend every 2 years for a full service or maybe every year if there is a high level of contaminants in your area or you live near the sea. This will improve the performance and life of your heat pump, improve efficiency, air quality and your energy costs. How often do you get your car serviced?
WHICH SYMBOL ON MY HEAT PUMP IS FOR HEATING?
We know, it’s a hot topic of debate in many households! Use the sunshine for heating and the snowflake for cooling (its logical really!). Make sure when you are changing modes that you hear the heat pump beep in acknowledgement.
