Christchurch Aunties

Christchurch Aunties are working in our community, flying under the radar in an area of under privilege that receives little publicity, and that many of us are not even aware of except for in the statistics that are quoted periodically in the news.   Christchurch Aunties support women and children who have experienced family violence and hardship, and who are at risk.  Their vision is a Canterbury where all women and children who have been exposed to abuse and family harm, are safe, well supported and resourced, through the agencies they collaborate with.  Their model and mahi is simple: Get basic, essential stuff to women and their families, quickly and seamlessly.  It’s a helping hand in their goal to change theirs and their families futures.

We have developed a company giving plan that will place funds at the heart of our community’s needs and will have a meaningful and direct impact towards making a difference to many women and children.  Our key support contributions are listed below;

Cash Donations – when it comes to community service and charities, we know that untagged cash is one of the best possible ways we can provide support. Gavin Lowe Energy contribute a significant cash donation every month directly to Christchurch Aunties to use wherever they need it the most

Testing and Tagging – all the donated electrical goods which are required to be ‘tested and tagged’ for compliance, are carried out by our electricians on a weekly basis, ensuring these goods are then able to be connected with those in need
